STRESS: THE SILENT KILLER
This report is well overdue. According to the World Health Organization, workplace stress is the “health epidemic of the 21st Century.” Stress is rising, with 60% of workers in major global economies experiencing stress. The “Attitudes in the American Workplace VII” survey reported that:
35% of American workers think that their job is harming their physical or emotional well-being.
42% state that job pressures are interfering with their family or personal lives, and half report having more demanding workloads than they had a year ago.
48% of workers say that they sometimes have too many unreasonable deadlines and/or too much work to do.
42% feel they sometimes, rarely or never have adequate control or input over their work duties.
