Smyle recruits new CEO and group finance director

Event Agency of the Year winner Smyle has named Keith O’Loughlin as its new CEO.

O’Loughlin stepped down as Group CEO of TRO in 2017, having expanded the company internationally. He will now lead Smyle Creative, guided by Rick Stainton who takes on the role of group executive director and will oversee growth of Smyle’s further expansion, specifically tackling acquisitions, strategic partnerships and client development.

David Dewhurst, previously finance director at Next Fifteen Communications, takes on the role of Smyle’s finance director.

“2018 was an incredible year for us, and this latest accolade in The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 demonstrates our broadening international delivery and more global client relationships,” Rick Stainton said.

“We need the best talent with exceptional experience to continue to develop our business and realise our potential, hence I am so excited to announce Keith and David as a very significant boost to our leadership team. This now allows me more time to evolve my role in executing the wider Group’s strategy, which I have been wanting to dedicate more focus on for some time.”

Smyle’s exports have more than doubled over the last two years, shoring up their place at No. 54 on The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200.

The event agency also recently entered The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 at No. 66.
