micebook launches creative competition for event grads
A new competition will offer event graduates the opportunity to get a foot in the event planning industry door.
Event industry hub, micebook has partnered with Event Grads UK to launch a competition and invite event professional to share ideas to help design and shape its inaugural V Awards which will celebrate the best in class across virtual and hybrid events.
The live awards ceremony is scheduled for 3 September 2021 at Nobu Portman Square in London.
“For many graduates, a pathway to an event career was destroyed by Covid-19 and we are here to offer some practical experience through our Disrupt the V Awards competition,” said micebook founder & CEO, Chetan Shah.
Event professionals can enter as individuals or in teams of up to three people and will be required to propose ideas for every aspect of the event including invitations, registration, arrival, entertainment, dinner, the awards, the hybrid experience and post-event communication.
The ideas should consider safety, sustainability and diversity. These elements are not crucial to winning this competition. If there are cost implications to your idea, this should be outlined as well as how these costs could potentially be covered.
The winning team or teams will win the following:
- Plan, implement and deliver your idea with the support of the micebook event team,
- Practical experience in delivering your idea
- Paid internship for the duration up to and including the awards night
- Presence and visibility at the event
- PR and promotion for the winning team or individuals to raise their profile and build their network
Entries will be judged by a subset of the main V Awards judges. The judging panel will feature experienced experts representing a broad cross-section of the industry including representatives from corporate brands such as Barclays, Deloitte and Dell Technologies, agencies including Top Banana, Identity, Live Group and DRPG and event technology providers Glisser and Cvent.
