Mia’s Connect Agent Day programme heads to The Majestic in Harrogate

The Meetings Industry Association has announced it will be hosting its Connect Agent Day in Harrogate this August.

The Connect Agent Day event aims to provide a platform for a range of industry professionals to network with agencies in a laid-back, informal setting.

The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday 22 August at The Majestic in Harrogate. Representatives from venues will have the opportunity to engage with agencies in a fast 30-in-30 quick-fire round Q&A before moving onto a “Think In, Talk In” session where both agencies and venues can share thoughts on the issues affecting the industry.

The afternoon session will include active team-building games before Connect Agent Day attendees enjoy a “Happy Hour” drinks reception to round off the event.

Jane Longhurst, chief executive of the mia, said: “We launched our ‘Connect’ events last year to enhance the mia’s informative and inspiring programme. We are pleased to bring our latest event to Harrogate and are expecting another sell-out day as we recognise this level of access to agents is invaluable.”

The Connect Agent Day events have grown in popularity since launching in 2015 and provide networking opportunities within the UK’s business meetings and events industry. Last year, the concept was awarded silver in the Best Membership Initiative category at the Association Excellence Awards.

A number of agencies have already confirmed to attend the Harrogate event including Hotel & Travel Solutions, Hospitality Guaranteed, Venues and Events International, Inntel, Successful Events, Bien Venue, Pineapple Events, Mason Events and CBA events, among others.

According to mia, the Connect Agent Days are increasingly popular and have even been known to trend on Twitter in previous years.

The Connect Agent Day in Harrogate will begin at 10am and conclude at around 4pm. Tickets are available for £200 for mia members and £300 for non-members. Find out more and book your place on the Connect Agent Day here.
