Lockdown Rock-Down to raise money for Meeting Needs with virtual fun
Meeting Needs and SongDivision have teamed up to present the Lockdown Rock-Down – a fun-filled virtual gala night where all funds raised go to charity.
The music-fuelled extravaganza on Thursday 7 May will include live professional music performances by special guest artists, an interactive rock and roll game show, performance challenges, lip sync battles, live auctions and many prizes to be won.
Meeting Needs chair Jason Wilcock said: “We are really looking forward to what promises to be a fun filled night and we are very grateful to the incredibly talented team at SongDivision for coming on board to support us. All the proceeds from the evening will go to support Meeting Needs projects and some of those beneficiaries will be joining us on the night to showcase the amazing work that they do.
“Our work continues here in the UK and around the world. We recently released an industry survey to understand how Meeting Needs together with others can best support the event industry through the current Covid-19 crisis. In talking to our charity beneficiaries, we are also incredibly mindful of the impact that the virus is having on their work. We are supporting where we can, including recent projects such as London Cares outreach programme, now delivered virtually, to combat loneliness and isolation, and working with Kenyan charity Glad’s House in supporting homeless children and young people.”
Anyone who wants to get involved with the Lockdown Rock-Down can register here. Participants are encouraged to dress to impress, bring your own beverages, and come together online to raise money for a great cause. All partners, families, housemates etc are welcome and all revenues go to Meeting Needs.
Meeting Needs is a registered charity founded by leading figures in the UK conference and events industry to raise funds for sustainable causes relevant to our industry. Last year it passed the £1 million milestone of donations to projects in the UK and overseas – providing holidays for disadvantaged children in the UK, building classrooms for children in Africa and providing clean water for villages in India.
