Institute of Event Management launches workforce survey
The Institute of Event Management (IEM) is calling on event professionals to take part in its workforce survey.
The aim of the survey is to get a clearer picture of the size and scope of the events sector in the UK and the roles and responsibilities that are currently incorporated across all event sectors, as well as understanding event professionals’ new and updated skills and how they are developing and changing.
An IEM spokeswoman said: “We need you to help us gauge the current size and scope of the events sector and what activities it is currently engaged in so that we can enable the recognition of events as a sector with a strong voice within the UK. As an individual or organisation, we would like to know more about you, your role and your levels of responsibility, workload and qualifications.
“Knowing this means we are better placed to support you and your career. The Institute of Event Management and wider events sector need to better understand the scope and scale of the profession to help further its narrative and understand what the profession stands for in terms of future development.”
The data will be used to promote the interests of the sector, for learning and teaching purpose and to inform the Institute of Event Management (IEM) to further the professionalisation of the sector.
This survey has been designed by the Institute of Event Management in collaboration with the Association for Events Management Education, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Glasgow Caledonian University, the University of the West of England, the University of Suffolk and Liverpool John Moores University.
The Institute of Event Management provides the opportunity for individuals who already work, or wish to work in the events sector to gain professional recognition, enhance their profile, skills and knowledge, and make global connections.
