ICC Birmingham wins bid to host 2020 SAS Forum for second year

SAS, a technology company specialising in advanced and predictive analytics, has selected the International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham to host its 2020 SAS Forum UK Conference.

The conference which was also hosted at ICC Birmingham in 2019, will take place on 22 and 23 June 2020. Previously, ICC Birmingham’s sister venue, the Vox, hosted the SAS Forum UK conference before it was moved into ICC Birmingham.

The conference is expected to attract more than 1,000 delegates with the aim of bringing customers, employees and experts together to share examples and best practice for how to transform data into intelligence using analytics and artificial intelligence.

The conference will utilise Halls 1 and 3 for the plenary events, plus exhibition and breakout areas across the two-day event.

“This is a great example of our strength of partnership with SAS and between our teams across our venues,” Donna Cunningham, sales director for the ICC and Vox

“The Vox team did a superb job in taking the event to the next level for us.  Now at the ICC, we can harness the strengths of it being a bigger venue and utilise our tiered seating facilities and extensive break out areas.  SAS is a great client to work with, always pushing the boundaries of what can be done with a conference space and we look forward to their return.”

This is the latest technology client to have chosen the ICC Birmingham based on a combination of facilities, flexibility and customer service.

Mui Luc, head of Go To Market, SAS UK & Ireland said: “We enjoyed our most successful ever SAS Forum UK earlier this year, with a record number of customers, partners, academics and students attending. With three plenary sessions, six breakout streams and 36 breakout sessions we needed a large, flexible venue like the ICC to accommodate all our needs.  We recognise we’ll need this level of functionality again for next year’s event.”
