IBTM Wired enhances IBTM’s digital events portfolio

IBTM Events has launched IBTM Wired, a four-day online meeting for event professionals taking place from 28 June to 1 July 2021.

The event will offer one-to-one business meetings, networking sessions and live and on-demand education sessions. IBTM Wired will take place in addition to IBTM’s other in-person events, including IBTM Asia Pacific which has been rescheduled for April 2022 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

The event platform, built by Sector Global, will be open 24 hours a day for the event’s duration so that attendees can tailor their schedule to their time zone.

On each day of the event, IBTM Wired will showcase a region’s business meetings and events offering and include industry insight and expert opinion from event professionals representing the region. The schedule is as follows:

  • Asia Pacific (28 June) IBTM has partnered with SACEOS (Singapore Association for Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers) to create SMF X IBTM Wired, which will see this year’s hybrid Singapore MICE Forum (SMF) integrated into the programme for IBTM Wired with an education programme that focuses on new ways of community engagement, design thinking and innovation.
  • North and South America (29 June) when the education programme will delve into how to deliver quality experiences and premium service.
  • Middle East and Africa (30 June) with education sessions focusing on networking, data and analysis, and energy.
  • Europe (1 July) when the sessions will explore power and success within learning and development.

“While there’s huge demand for face-to-face events and we look forward to their return, it’s clear there is a long-term place for high-quality online meetings”, IBTM event manager Michael Jones said.

“IBTM Wired will tap into the desire for year-round connections and will be a valuable and easily accessible touchpoint for existing and new customers from all over the globe who are looking to do business and network with their peers.”

Bita Seow, executive director at SACEOS added: “The global business meetings and events industry has remained resilient and agile during these uncertain times. The past year has been a learning journey for many of us and we are excited that SMF can be the platform for the industry to showcase solutions, share insights and to come together as a collective strength towards the revival of meetings and events in a COVID-19 safe environment.”
