Have yourself a merry little corporate Christmas party

Tis (nearly) the season to be jolly. Although Santa isn’t coming down our chimneys for another few months, millions of corporates across the UK have already started thinking about their Christmas parties and securing venues sure to keep guests rocking around the Christmas tree.

UK venues are developing the Christmas party scene far beyond dry turkey and a sprig of mistletoe, starting with fresh themes that transport guests to different eras, countries and even planets – all in the name of festive cheer.

Here, we reveal the venues taking the Crown of Thrones out of Christmas party planning and putting the festive cheer back into it.

Holiday Inn London Wembley: the Greatest Showman

The Holiday Inn London Wembley is once again running its Greatest Showman themed party for 2019. Guests will be transported into the world of the famous showman. They will walk the red carpet into Barnum’s colourful circus and be caught up in the drama of the Greatest Show!

Included in the Christmas event package is circus themed décor, bespoke lighting, themed table centres, festive novelties, a festive three-course buffet, half a bottle of wine per person, a DJ and disco and private bar until the early hours.

Clapham Common: Winterville

Can’t settle on just one whacky theme? Winterville at London’s Clapham Common will feature its largest ever selection of street food traders this Christmas, plus Plonk Golf, a roller disco, a backyard cinema, the Spiegeltent, an ice skating rink and a fairground.

With so much on offer, Winterville will surely eliminate any “it wasn’t for me” comments on the Christmas party feedback forms.

The Mermaid London: Hawaii

Step out of the bleak winter and onto a Hawaiian beach at The Mermaid London with Luau.

The non-Christmas-themed Christmas party promises to take guest from a cold, winter’s day to a tropical paradise, in the heart of London.

Celtic Manor Resort: Alpine Lodge to Flapper Girls

Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales has launched its Superstar Christmas Party Nights with a range of themed events.

The 13 themes on offer include the bright lights of Vegas, Alpine Ski Lodge, the Roaring 1920s, a Great Gatsby soiree, Masquerade Ball, Motown and “Prosecco Ho-Ho-Ho” events.

Barbican: Carnival

Another venue leaving Christmas at the front door is the Barbican in London with its carnival theme in The Conservatory.

For corporate parties, The Conservatory will boast tropical fish ponds, more than 1,800 species of plants, secluded gardens and catering from Searcys, served on bamboo plates.

Cheltenham Racecourse: Hollywood

Cheltenham Racecourse has just upped its glamorous reputation with the announcement of “A very Hollywood Christmas” theme.

The red carpet will be rolled out for guests attending the Christmas Party on Friday 13 December. Although the venue isn’t available for exclusive hire, Cheltenham Racecourse’s Christmas shindig will provide a thrilling atmosphere for all those who attend.

Glaziers Hall: Winter Wonderland

Perhaps the most traditional on the list is Glaziers Hall, next to London Bridge with its winter wonderland theme.

The entire venue is set to whisk guests to Narnia, with floor to ceiling lights, giant baubles and “snow-capped” fir trees.
