Corporate canines? Tewkesbury Park unveils doggy delegate package
Ever fancied taking your mutt to a meeting? Gloucestershire hotel Tewkesbury Park has created a new meeting package for corporate canines, where delegates can bring along their four-legged friends.
Recognising the trend for more and more of us to not only take our pooches on holiday, but also to the office, the hotel has created the K9 Meeting Package, allowing dogs the flexibility to join their owners in a meeting.
Amanda Baker, sales manager at Tewkesbury Park, said: “People no longer wish to put their best friend in a kennel anymore, times have changed. Furthermore, from the odd conversation we have had with guests, we realised quite a few dog-owners take their dogs to the office, yet when it comes to meetings away with their company, there is virtually no allowance for dogs to join the corporate getaway.
“By creating the K9 Meeting Package, we are providing dog-owners with the flexibility and convenience to bring their dog. The reality is, most dogs are happy to sit under the table alongside their owner while the meeting is going on. However, if that’s not the case, we can provide a professional dog-walker to assist with the dog whilst the meeting is going on, reuniting the dog with their owner following the meeting.”
Aimed at groups of 20 or less, the K9 Meeting Package includes all the usual features you would expect from a meeting venue, such as AV equipment, refreshments, stationery and a buffet lunch – but with a few extras thrown in for dog-owners.
Delegates with dogs are given a welcome pack in a dog-friendly Just Right room with doggie treats, a luxury Hunt & Wilson dog bed, suggested walks and tailored information, while in the morning the hotel’s Cotswolds breakfast throws in a sausage or two for the pooches. Dog-sitting facilities are also available for the duration of the meeting if required.
The venue introduced a well-received leisure canine package to the market a couple of years ago. Its Just Right rooms have floor-to-ceiling glass doors, opening directly onto the hotel’s grounds, allowing dogs to pop out whenever nature calls.
