#MeetYouAtTheShow as the global events industry converges

Meeting and event professionals from around the world are coming together for three days of inspiration, education and networking at The Meetings Show.

The show, rescheduled due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, is taking place virtually from 19-21 October to enable business meetings and events professionals to stay connected and informed, wherever they are in the world.

As with previous shows, thousands of pre-qualified buyers are holding valuable meetings with exhibitors, attend inspirational education sessions and network with their peers, but this time through a leading virtual event platform.

To help you plan your visit, here are some of the highlights of The Meetings Show 2020.

Excellent exhibitors

Hundreds of exhibitors from around the world – including hotels, venues, destinations management companies and technology suppliers – are all present.

Domestic and international exhibitors that attendees can expect to see, and meet with virtually, include Visit Britain, London & Partners, Liverpool City Council, Newcastle Gateshead Initiative, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Penang Convention Bureau, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, Conventions Malta as well as Arora Group Hotels, Marriott Hotel Group and MacDonald Hotels.

The industry’s growing reliance on event technology is also demonstrated through the growth in the number of technology suppliers at the show. Shocklogic, Cvent, Slido and CrowdComms are just a handful of those who will be demonstrating how their innovative solutions can aid events.

Brilliant buyers

As always, The Meetings Show is guaranteed to bring pre-qualified buyers. This year they will be representing the likes of Amazon, AstraZeneca, BCD, EY, George P Johnson, Helms Briscoe, MCI, Lexus, Natwest, Sony, Unilever and Visa, who will be able to manage appointments through the platform to ensure valuable business can be done.

Sizzling speakers

The show’s comprehensive education programme, with sessions offered live and on demand, features a fantastic line up of speakers and many hours of content.

Headlining the show’s sizzling education programme is Fyre Festival’s Andy King. The events professional, known for his ‘above and beyond the job’ attitude, will lead a keynote session on Wednesday 21 October.

In the must-watch, interactive session, King will reveal how his life changed following the airing of the Fyre Festival documentary in 2019, give valuable tips on how to turn negatives into positives, offer insight into running sustainable events, and more. Attendees will also have the chance to put their burning questions to King.

Other expert speakers will cover a range of pertinent themes over the three days, such as sustainability and creative thinking and provide insight on future trends, effective use of technology, measuring ROI and future event design.

Backstage

In between the valuable meetings, networking and education sessions, visitors will be entertained by the show’s new TMS TV, which for the first time will be broadcasting throughout the three days. Accessed via the homepage of the virtual Swapcard platform, visitors can expect to see exclusive behind the scenes interviews with the speakers, exhibitor interviews as well insightful discussions, tips and more from some of the industry’s leading figures.
