UKickstart Event 2020 announces 11 participating venues
UKickstart Event 2020, the first UK-wide live and virtual gathering of event professionals post-lockdown, has added five more venues to the list of places where event professionals can gather to take part the live and virtual event.
This announcement brings the total number of participating venues to 11.
The event, which is taking place on Tuesday 8 September, will be available online and live at the following venues: Tobacco Dock, ExCeL in London, ACC Liverpool, Newcastle Civic Centre and The Studio Leeds have joined etc.venues County Hall, Farnborough Exhibition Centre, etc.venues Manchester and etc.venues Birmingham. The venue teams from ICC Wales and ICC Belfast will also be taking part.
Each venue will cater for up to 30 socially distanced delegates, with many more participants able to tune into the virtual experience via an online platform.
The aim of this initiative, created and spearheaded by etc.venues, is to bring event professionals together, for the first time since lockdown, to discuss the state of UK meetings and events, demonstrate the power of events, inspire confidence and act as a catalyst to kickstart the events economy.

The event will include multiple panel discussion across varying topics, including the safe return to the meetings and events industry, business predictions and solutions to retaining talent, technology and the new crowdfunded initiative – One Industry One Voice.

- Tracy Halliwell MBE, director of tourism, conventions and major events at London and Partners
- Simon Hughes, chair of BVEP
- Rick Stainton, founder and group executive director of Smyle
- David Watt, CEO of CI Group
- Lex Butler, founder of Wolf & White and chair of HBAA
