Job Description

My client, a media company just outside of Central London, with a strong portfolio of digital platforms, exhibitions, events and publications seek a Head of Events who has come from a successful commercial conference conference and content production background to strategically develop and deliver the companies in person and digital events designed to engage delegates and create value for our sponsors and exhibitors.

Your aim will be to achieve agreed sustainable growth, revenue, and profitability targets whilst developing events which meet the needs of their markets now and in the future and identifying new commercial opportunities. You will actively manage, motivate, and coach the team, supporting them to meet their objectives and develop their careers.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Taking ownership of the conferences P&L to meet targets
  • Driving the profitable expansion of the portfolio of conferences and events
  • Using creativity and imagination, explore and develop new conference, exhibition and event formats whether in person or digital to meet the needs of the markets they serve and thus provide sustainable growth
  • Collaborate with the brand and function teams to meet joint objectives
  • Leading and developing the conference production, marketing and operations teams to deliver high-quality events which attract quality delegates, provide a superior experience for participants, generate a measurable return on investment for commercial sponsors and run smoothly and safely from to finish

You will have a:

  • Proven track record in B2B conferences and events and topic generation
  • Track record in recruiting and managing high performing individuals, someone who enjoys setting their team up for success
  • Some digital conference experience essential
  • Strategic approach to business development with proven strong commercial judgement
  • Ability to set budgets, forecast and manage a P&L
