If you don’t measure it….

I agree wholeheartedly with the ICE research that metrics are crucially important in event planning and strategy. How many times have we come away from events that we have ‘felt’ were good, but with no actual measurement of how ‘good’ and on what basis?
It’s not always easy to measure event success directly, but setting a goal as simple as number of visitors to stand, number of conversations, or number of new leads at least gives you a measure of what is happening and something to work on for next time.
Without this you simply have no idea of whether your event is adding value to your business or simply a vanity project and drain on valuable resources (and I’m sure there are plenty of those!).
