Prepared to be bowled over by the Home Dressing Room at Lord’s
Recently, you may have seen inside the England cricket team’s Dressing Room at Lord’s in London after they won the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Scenes of Champagne fountains and cheers took over the dressing room after England won in the nail-biting super over, seeing them lift the trophy.
So when the Lord’s hospitality team invited M&IT up to London to see the newly open Dressing Room venue, we were a little apprehensive of what state the venue might be in.
But it true English style, the Dressing Room has been cleaned immaculately to dispel any whiff of victory champagne that may have spilt on the carpet.
Cricket fans will know the home and away dressing rooms look directly out on to the pitch with long, elegant balconies, usually adorned with concerned-looking cricket players. It’s definitely the best seat in the house, and now it’s available for private hire.
Lord’s Cricket Ground is opening the doors to the player’s Home Dressing Room as a brand new event space at the UK’s home of cricket.
The Dressing Room is steeped in cricketing history, all the way back to the late 19th century with cricket legends name’s displayed on the Lord’s Honours Boards.
Overlooking the world-famous pitch at Lord’s and opposite the iconic J.P. Morgan Media Centre, this unique space can accommodate intimate dinners or receptions catered for by the award-winning in-house team, headed up by food and drink executive manager, James de Groot, and executive chef, Karl Pearce.
Refurbished earlier this year, the Dressing Rooms have only previously been accessible to the public through the Lord’s tour. Now available to hire as an exclusive event space, The Home Dressing Room can accommodate 12 guests for a private dinner or up to 40 guests for a drinks reception.
James de Groot, said: “We are really excited to be able to showcase this fantastic space as a new venue for private hire. The way the team here have worked to be able to offer the Dressing Room for events has been exceptional, and we can’t wait to deliver an incredible experience for all our guests, headlined by our award-winning team.
“I think anyone who attends an event here will be truly amazed by the grandeur and history of the setting, as well as the unique opportunity to celebrate in the same space both the England men’s and women’s teams celebrated their World Cup wins.”
