Land your helicopter at The Runnymede on Thames
The Runnymede on Thames has the power to make you forget you’re just three minutes away from one of the UK’s busiest roads and only seven minutes from Heathrow Airport. But you wouldn’t want to forget its just 10 minutes from the land of imagination, LEGOLAND Windsor.
As the name may give away, The Runnymede on Thames sits on the river banks of the River Thames in Berkshire. Idyllic beyond compare with riverboats sailing past, yet conveniently close to London for business travellers.
Regardless of inner-city hotels claiming to create “peace and tranquillity” it doesn’t compare to the sense of serenity a delegate can enjoy, actually being outside of the city confines.
The four-star hotel is expressive in design with a mix of Danish chic, art deco decadence with an eclectic mix of artwork showcasing the local area. The main lobby is warm and inviting with the sun beaming down onto the adjoining terrace area and the river beyond, creating an ideal location for pre-dinner cocktails.
The dedicated meeting facilities are expansive and modern after undergoing a refurbishment in 2009. Now capable of hosting 150 delegates across its 14 flexible meeting rooms and dedicated delegate café.
But it’s not all board rooms and buffets on offer for delegates at The Runnymede on Thames. The hotel has recently launched a series of quirky team building activities and incentives, namely puppy yoga.
The Runnymede on Thames launched the Puppy Yoga package as part of a teambuilding exercise. Unfortunately, the puppies don’t do yoga but they do wander around the room being adorable. We wouldn’t blame you for getting distracted.
The floating boardroom delegate packages are another summertime quirk for the hotel. The three boats can be hired separately or together depending on the number of delegates in the party. They can either be used as a meeting room or more favourably for conference lunches.
Oh, and The Runnymede on Thames Hotel and Spa has its own private helicopter landing pad.
