Nominations have opened for the 2022 miaList as the Meetings Industry Association (mia) prepares to shine its annual spotlight on the sector’s finest talent.
Showcasing both inspirational
individuals as well as teams, the miaList recognises those who go above and
beyond the call of duty and play an instrumental role in making their
organisation a success.
New for this year, the list that started in 2011 will feature dedicated sustainability and diversity, equity
and inclusion titles, as well as a Best Innovation accolade. It will also see a
Venue of the Year and Supplier of the Year crowned.
Other titles, which will continue to be
recognised at a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham
Metropole on 17 November 2022, include dedicated Team of the Year awards for
those in events and operations, sales and marketing, as well as those
representing destinations.
Anyone who is working within or is
associated with the UK’s business meetings and events industry is eligible to
be featured on the list, which is free to enter. However,
individuals must be nominated by either a colleague or an associate.
All
nominations will be assessed by the mia's panel of judges. For the team
titles, there will be an additional judging stage where those shortlisted by
the panel will be subject to a weighted public vote.
Kerrin MacPhie, chief executive
of the mia, said: “We are delighted to be opening the nominations for this
year’s miaList and extending the categories to ensure the efforts of those
working across all segments of the industry are recognised. I look forward to
supporting our expert judging panel in navigating this year’s nominations and
entries, and seeing who is chosen to join the miaList roll of honour.
Full details and application
forms can be found here. Completed forms and portfolios of
