Creative
communications agency Worldspan is celebrating its 50th birthday.
Opening its
doors for business on the 21 June 1972, Worldspan can now lay firm
claim to being one of the first specialised corporate event agencies in the UK.
Commenting
on the 50-year anniversary, Worldspan chair, Jason Wilcock said: The agency was
founded by my later father, Len Wilcock, who was truly one of the pioneers of
the event industry as we know it. He was a visionary and a believer in the
magic of bringing people together.”
Reflecting on
the last 50 years of business, Wilcock added: “It has been an incredible
journey to date. Over the past 50 years, with the trust, support and loyalty of
our clients, partners, suppliers and teams, we have imagined and re-imagined extraordinary
events and experiences at home and all around the world.
“As we mark
the significant anniversary of Worldspan, we’ve witnessed first-hand the
evolution and growth of the event industry as well as its recognition. We are
very proud of the good that our craft had done.”
As part of
Worldspan’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, the company is undertaking a range
of activities to celebrate and recognise its team, clients and partners.
